In the coming weeks, Minnesotans will be traveling to spend the holidays with friends and family members throughout the state. Minnesota’s corn farmers would like to encourage holiday travelers to fuel their journey with clean, renewable and homegrown ethanol.

Yes, gas prices have fallen recently, but for flex fuel vehicle owners, higher ethanol blends such as E85 – a mix of 85 percent ethanol and 15 percent regular unleaded – continue to offer savings at the pump and a cleaner-burning alternative to regular gasoline.

For example, at the Super America on 1500 Division St. in Waite Park, E85 was $1.79 per gallon compared to $2.39 for regular unleaded, a 25 percent savings.  At the Cenex on 1705 Broadway St. in Alexandria, E85 was $1.35 per gallon and regular unleaded was $2.35, a 43 percent savings.
